• i went out with river boy twice this past weekend. we saw each other again on saturday nite. (don't worry. i had a "back-up" there. one of my friends who lives in town came with her boyfriend so that if he turned out to be a jerk (he's not) or if he didn't show at all (he did) that i'd have an "out". needless to say, we had set this up BEFORE i decided to meet up with him on friday nite. oh well.) saturday nite went just as well, or better, than friday nite. we had some drinks, we played pool and i apparently impressed him with my mad skilz (that is so wrong on so many levels!) with the pool cue. how do i know that i impressed him, you ask? i talked to him all day on yahoo messenger and i asked him if it had surprised him that i could play. he said "surprised? no. pleasantly impressed." woo hoo! so far there are no set plans to see each other again, but i've talked to him everyday for the last week, albeit online. (the whole phone thing? a long story and not mine to tell.)
• even though i know y'all (in deference to kerry i will spell it y'all instead of ya'll) can't make it, since you live all over the country, you are all hereby invited to my birthday blowout bash on the 21st at the local casino here. there will be dining, dancing and gambling. and maybe, just maybe, a river boy sighting. i'll keep you posted about that!
• my boss is on vacation this week, but surprisingly today went quickly, since i actually had some work to do. the problem with this? i'm afraid i won't be able to stretch out the amount of work i have left thru friday. i have this bad habit of being too efficient. any ideas how i can keep myself busy the rest of the week?
• i am now officially 6 weeks post-op from my lasik surgery. woo hoo! hard to believe that it's been that long already. i can rub my eyes again! woo hoo! it's amazing to think back on the last 6 weeks and all that has happened in my life since the surgery. very cool.
• this is the first month of my BUDGET so that i can save money for the house i want to buy. so far this month i've spent $32. one tank of gas, lunch at taco hell today (~$3.50) and one packet of glue sticks for work. i suppose i could get reimbursed for that, but it was only about $1.50. so far, so good, i guess.
• i watched 2 movies yesterday. one, bloodwork with clint eastwood i'd seen already. if you like thriller/suspense movies, this one was awesome. definitely has some twists and turns you won't expect. the other? the secret lives of altar boys with jody foster and one of the culkin kids. this movie was rather dark, but done well, i thought. i was live action, but one of the characters draws comic books, so part of the movie was animated. i liked it. tonight i was going to watch "oliver", but since the princess diaries 2 is coming out this weekend, i decided to re-watch the first one so i can go see the 2nd one this weekend.
